Wines of Mendoza:

Enjoying a glass of wine with friends at a winery in Mendoza, Argentina.Mendoza is justly famous for its signature wine, Malbec, but there are many other varietals to try. If youl like champagne, that's another good choice in Mendoza because a number of wine makers are producing this wine in the laborious tradition of methode champenoise. The results are delicious and the price is a huge bargain!

In the last year many new wineries have opened and many others have started to receive visitors for the first time. For our tours we choose the very best of the different types of wineries--some old and some new, with different wine-making styles, traditional or contemporary architecture, with the most attentive welcome, and the best tasting options.

If you're a wine aficionado, we can create a custom tour for you. Custom features may include a private wine tasting and briefing with a local expert, meetings with winemakers, or a class on pairing Mendoza wines with cheese or other foods. Of course we'll include visits to to the most interesting wineries, and many tastings of the premium Malbecs, other varietals and highly-rated blends that are have gained worldwide acclaim and resulted in Mendoza's being named one of the "eight great wine capitals of the world."

Art and culture:

Tango Music in a Mendoza Night Club Wine is not the only thing that's busting out all over Mendoza. The area's many talented painters, sculptors, fabric artists and photographers and musicians have an ever-increasing choice of new venues--galleries, museums and even a high-fashion clothing store--for exhibiting and performing their art. To offer the best to our clients, we're building a network of relationships with artists and musicians who value the opportunity to meet and exhibit their talents to visitors.

In fact, we’ve created a new non-profit organization—Mendoza Intercultural Association—for the express purpose of encouraging intercultural exchange between people of Argentine and other cultures. So stay tuned for new and exciting programs on these themes.

Food:

Vineyards and snow-capped mountains are a common sight in Mendoza, Argentina. Strolling around the city of Mendoza, you’ll get unexpected glimpses of the Andes as you glance to the west. Plying the wine roads of Lujan de Cuyo and especially the Valle de Uco, you’ll “ooh” and “ah”  at the row of jagged. white-tipped peaks visible just beyond the endless rows of vineyards. But no visit to Mendoza is complete without an excursion to the heart of this majestic range. A short drive from the city, the mountains reveal themselves in a rainbow of colors and formations--horizontal and vertical, jagged and undulating. Within less than three hours, you’ll marvel at the snow-capped peaks of Aconcagua which, at nearly 23,000 feet, is the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere.

Lodging Details

The pool at the Posada de Rosas Alongside the garden and pool,  a few steps from the main house, are three studios. Each has a private bath finished in the local travertine marble. Beds are top-line King Koil models, two meters long, and they can be set up either as two twins or a queen. Studios have their own air conditioning and heating systems, cable TV, WiFi, and telephone. They also have a sink and a small refrigerator. Additional amenities for the kitchenette may be requested from the desk.
