Why choose Amazing Mendoza Tours?

A beautiful winery at the
base of the Andes in Mendoza, Argentina There are many tour options in Mendoza, but they’re not all the same. The difference is in the details, in the trouble and the care that’s taken to make your trip the best possible experience.
Mendoza is a boom town. New and exciting experiences open up for the visitor almost every day. Amazing Mendoza Tours does extensive, independent, objective research to fnd and offer the best of Mendoza to our clients.

We try the new restaurants and periodically return to check up on the ones that have been around for a while. Frankly, we've crossed a number of restaurants off our list because they did not meet our demanding standards for quality of the food, service and ambience. For our wine tours we choose the very best of the different types of wineries--some old and some new, with different wine-making styles, traditional or contemporary architecture. We take our clients only to those with the most attentive welcome, and the best tasting options.

Of course you can arrive in Mendoza without plans, call up a tour company you don’t know, hire a car whose driver may not speak English, or rent your own car, and hope your last-minute arrangements turn out well. What you’ll find out is that unlike in Napa, California or some other wine regions, you can’t just show up at a winery and immediately start tasting. The best wineries require appointments, and the tasting usually comes only after the tour. If you want a winery lunch, the only way to be sure you’ll get it is to have a reservation.  And you’ll also learn that navigating the wine roads can be difficult. Even when the signage is good, it can be hard to find your destination and arrive on time for your sppointment.

We go to great lengths to provide you with a seamless, worry-free, and totally enjoyable experience. The personal service, preparation and constant research that go into our successful tours take time and staff whose mission is to make sure you get the most out of your limited time in Mendoza.

This means we do not cut corners on expenses. We may charge more than some others, but we give a lot more. Once you get to Mendoza, shouldn't you desire the best experience available, not just the cheapest tour?

To avoid disappointment, choose Amazing Mendoza Tours, where our commitment to maximizing your Mendoza experience will exceed your highest expectations.

What's included in the price of a tour?

For scheduled tours on specific dates, the price generally includes lodging, most meals with wine or beer and tips included, transportation for excursions, a bilingual escort, airport transfers, entrance and tasting fees for winery visits, and other attractions such as visits to artists' studios. In the case of each tour, we spell out how many meals and other events are covered. We do not include airfare in the packages. If you'd like a custom tour, we will propose an itinerary with the excursions, meals, etc. and also specify exactly what is covered in the package price.

Besides wine touring, what else is there to do in Mendoza?

Mendoza is a great town for walking. You'll love San Martin Park, with its rose garden, lake, and extremely varied vegetation, as well as the vibrant Independence Plaza with its artisan fair and street musicians, and several other plazas right in the center of town. All of this, plus the central market and the pedestrian shopping street with its outdoor cafes, is just a few minutes' walk from the Posada de Rosas. Other options include cooking classes, excursions into the Andes mountains, rafting and other outdoor activities, visits to artists' studios and museums, and spa treatments.

We also pride ourselves on introducing our guests to the local people and culture in a way that is not commonly found in standard tours. One example of this effort is the opportunity for a private asado –the barbeque meal that is eblematic of Argentine culture, complete with a local musician singing traditional songs.

How large are your tour groups?

Our scheduled tour packages, at the posted prices, require a minimum of six persons and may accommodate up to 12. Amazing Mendoza Tours believes that the best travel experiences occur in relatively small groups with uncomplicated logistics. So unless there are special circumstances, we don't work with groups larger than 12.

When is the best time to visit Mendoza?

There are good reasons that Mendoza is known as "the land of sun and good wine." The region enjoys a dry, desert climate year-round. Because it's in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed from those in North America or Europe. If you want to escape the northern winter, you'll find dry heat, sunshine and the mid-day siesta culture in full force in Mendoza. If your temperature tastes tend to cool, try Mendoza's winter, when the average high is in the 50's (Fahrenheit). And of course, spring and fall are just as colorful and beautiful in Mendoza as they are anywhere else in the world.
